Amsterdam hotels are a major issue when traveling to Amsterdam especially on a business trip. We are being queried on that topic endlessly and therefore decided to create this page for the business travel.

Endeavour Enterprises N.V. as an interim management company that was responsible for the configuration of several hotels as well as their interim management is able to provide the exact view for the business traveler concerning his or her preferred hotel needs.

Amsterdam business hotels

Most business hotels in Amsterdam are varying from three to five start deluxe level. A hotel can be categorized as business hotel if it actively addresses business travelers and provide matching services for their special needs. Many hotels claim to be business oriented, but in fact treating business travelers the same way they treat any other traveler segment.

Business traveler needs

The business traveler is mostly preoccupied by business during day time and into some leisure during evening time. The business traveler is characterized by high expectations and low tolerance towards errors and malfunctions. The average business traveler is aware of his rights, has lots of experience with hotels and mostly runs under tight schedule.

When it comes to choosing a hotel, the business traveler would typically look for the following issues:

  • Location: central or close to relevant business location
  • Spacious room with a working desk
  • Internet connection: WiFi and LAN in reasonable prices
  • Flexibility in amending the reservation

  • Preferred service
  • In room hot drinks
  • In room mini bar
  • 24 HRS room service

Booking in advance in Amsterdam

For business conferences, holidays and weekends it is highly advised to book long in advance. Amsterdam can be very busy and the business traveler has limited time for searching for hotel. In addition, most hotels would enable a cancellation policy of 24 hours prior to arrival or several days if the destination date is extremely busy. Some high class hotels will even permit same day canceling, so it is advisable to book ahead and modify or cancel few days prior to arrival.

Amsterdam accommodation

If you are not picky concerning your hotel and just need a clean place to spend a day or two, Amsterdam offers all sorts of accommodation types: from hostels and apartments to bed & breakfast, medium class hotels and up to high class and luxury hotels.

Hotels in Amsterdam

Hotels in Amsterdam vary from good to poor service and offerings. Regardless of the hotel star rating, some hotels are really trying to please their guests and some, unfortunately are not customer oriented. It is always a risk when booking a foreign hotel. It is highly recommended to read reviews of former gusts on the booking site you are using.

In order to adjust your expectations it is reasonable to expect good but not excellent service lever at your hotel and if you are visiting the city from outside Europe you may find the room’s size a bit smaller than expected.

One of the advantages of Amsterdam for tourists and business visitors is its size. The city is relatively small compared with other European capitals and hosts about 750,000 inhabitants. In the Centrum, one can simply walk and does not necessarily need transportation. That fact is undermining the central location of any potential hotel.

To our opinion, it is a common mistake of Amsterdam visitors to try and book hotels next to central station. This area which is considered downtown is mostly crowded, noisy and combines relatively high prices and lower service level.
