Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya: hotel review

Location of Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya

Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya hotel is conveniently located couple of kilometers from the Kremlin and next to the metro station Kazanskiy Vokzal and Leningradskiy Railway station and about 25 KM from Sheremetyevo International Airport

This is a perfect connection to the Aeroexpress train to Sharmetyevo airport. Three tram stops away.

Check in & checkout at Hilton Moscow

Fast polite and practical. Early check in at 08:30 in the morning was possible upon early request. In order to guarantee such service you mostly need to book or your chances. In my case, my room was waiting just for me.

Late checkout with no extra payment for gold members is possible until 16:00 after which 50% of your room daily rate would be charged.

The hotel Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya

Is located in a historical building tower shaped as the traditional soviet symbols of power buildings the soviets left after them in many cities. The iconic Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya hotel is actually one of the city's famous Stalin Towers. A splendid fusion of Russian Baroque and Orthodox architecture.

If I had few minutes to read the booklet in the room or the material they printed especially for me, you'd be probably reading some historical material about this beautiful hotel now.

From the inside, the hotel is classically styled and looks more like an impressive castle than a hotel. The dining room is impressive but the ballroom is a class by itself and looks as if time stood still there. If you stand in the middle of it and close your eyes, I am sure you could actually vision a Tzarina dancing a Shostakovich waltz.

I have witnessed photographers using the hotel as a photo shoot scene. It looked as a perfect location.

According the hotel employees that made a short tour for me, two of the 15 meters chandeliers in the staircase are appearing in the Guinness book as the longest of their kind.

The lobby is decorated by beautiful paintings and sculptures. The only problem is that smoking is slowed there after 18:00, which is a common problem East to Berlin.

The room at Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya hotel

I was upgraded to the executive floor however they have placed me at the upper 19th floor with access to the executive lounge that is on the 6th floor.

My room was spacious, larger than the standard 25 SQM, nicely and modernly designed. It was 90 degrees room shaped with three large windows providing a beautiful view of the city as it looked form the 19th floor.

Shower and toilet were separated which makes lots of sense especially when two people occupying the room. It is love it or hate it. I loved it. It is also require some getting used to when you are looking for the toilets at the bathroom.

Due to my good fortune, or simply due to member status, goodies were sent twice to my room. Fruits, wine and dry fruits. That was on top of the mineral bottles refilled daily. These with the executive lounge were too much, even for me.

Executive lounge at Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya

A wide nicely decorated hall comprises of tables and chairs for eating and some couches for a more comfortable hanging around.

The lounge is open daily from 07:00 to 23:00 serving, breakfast, snacks, alcoholic beverages and canapés. The two cream soups of pumpkin and broccoli I tried, were simply amazing. The rest was just good.

The lounge employs 2-3 dedicated crew that are dedicated for service.

Free Wi-Fi network is available at the lounge and at the lobby.  We see it more and more among Hilton Hotels and that is not only blessed approach , it also save about 20-25 euros per 24 HRS costs of WiFi.

VIP friendly factor

I am happy to say that this hotel lived up to my Gold expectations and fulfilled all the reasons that made me a gold status in the first place.

With recent changes of HHonors policy (soon to be critically discussed here) I didn't take any chances and contacted the hotel in advance to verify the benefits for gold status members.

It might be useful to mention that we at Endeavour, decided to abandon the HHonors Gold status for reasons that would be blogged in the near future here. Hence we cannot recommend the HHonors loyalty program.

Welcome factor at Hilton Moscow

The hotel crew and facilities giving the guests a welcome feeling. The crew is very friendly and eager to help.

Special requests such as early and late checkout are met promptly by the reception level without the need to be preapproved by management. Staying at this hotel is a pleasant experience for both tourist and business traveler. It is classy, pleasant, welcoming and luxurious. When in Moscow, staying at Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya hotel is a treat.
